In this episode of Inspired Entrepreneur, Darrell Evans shares a strategy for dealing with the tug of war between certainty and being an entrepreneur. This strategy is powerful.
If you ask most entrepreneurs, they’d likely agree that one of their deepest desires is that of certainty.
As an entrepreneur, don’t you want to be assured that:
A conflict arises because certainty and entrepreneurship sit at opposite ends of the spectrum.
Certainty, (as Tony Robbins) describes it is one of the most important of 6 basic human needs. It’s the assurance you can avoid pain and gain pleasure. I’ve faced this myself over the last 20+ years.
So how do you breakthrough this tug of war of forces and reach your goals.

Here is a powerful idea to consider to help you stay balanced on the bridge.
Intention speaks to the “heart of the matter.”
Now I can hear some of you saying, but Darrell I started this business to make money.
What do you mean the “heart of the matter?”
I hear you on this believe me. Most of us started a business for profit.
Stick with me though.
Even if the desire for certainty is to be financially independent, there are usually some reasons you want this.
If you pull back the layers a bit by asking ourselves, what’s important about being financially independent to us?
You’ll discover an answer there. Let’s say it’s so you can fund your children’s college education
If you then take that answer and repeat the question, what’s import about funding your children’s college education to you?
You might then say that it’s important because you want them to have the best education possible.
I was taught to repeat this question and answer process to peel back the layers 5-7 times.
If you do this, you’ll find that your logical answers will turn emotional.
When this happens, I believe there lies your true intention for why you are doing what you’re doing.
So the next time When the war of desires confronts you, give this exercise a go.
Maybe, you’re fighting this now and should set some time aside in a quite place for the next 20 minutes and do it now.
It’s not the only strategy that works, but it is a good one.
How do you deal with the desire for certainty and your wildest dreams as an entrepreneur?
Let me know on in the comments below.
Hope this has blessed you today. That is my intention.
Until next time.
